Topic course: Modern secondary education: from world trends to local successes
Course description:
The dynamics of socio-cultural, economic, educational and political changes that have taken place in recent years in Ukraine and around the world make the work of teachers of general education schools more and more complex, requiring new knowledge and professional competences in order, in particular, to support the development of students with various educational needs and learning styles; improvement of the teaching and learning environment; identification and solution of problems arising both before the school and before the teaching profession; establishing cooperation with the social environment or studying (own) school practice. Therefore, the purpose of this course is to deepen the knowledge and increase the competence of teachers of general education institutions in using innovative methods and forms of working with students.
In particular, the participants of this course through references to international literature, analysis of examples and numerous exercises and practical problems:
get acquainted with the context of European educational policy (mainly in relation to secondary school)
to improve their competences in the use of various innovative methods and forms of education in general education schools
to analyze the potential advantages and problems of using these methods and forms in their school classes
to develop specific ways of introducing new methods and forms of work in various spheres of own educational practice
The professional development course includes: three thematic modules – each with four 90-minute webinars and a package of digital learning materials for use by participants.
All webinars are held on the Zoom platform
